While I was pursuing my undergrad, I kind of floated in and out of classes. Sure, there was a professor or two that came off as cool, but none really left an impression. When I went for my masters, I had several classes with Dr. Jeff Ritchey. He was the only prof that I ever felt compelled to write a thank you letter to after the completion of my degree for the attention and caring that he invested in the pursuit of my degree. He truly cared about each person in his classroom. He was an extremely energetic prof, and we thought that he was a student the first day that he walked into the classroom. Today I received a letter from IUP notifying me of his passing. Iup has truly lost a treasure with this guy.
