While Im on the Doctor Who subject, something thats always bothered me about both Doctor Who and Star Trek (and almost every other space oriented sci-fi) is this idea of coordinates. Everything in space is moving. There are no fixed objects, so how can there be coordinates? For instance, how could a space-vehicle put in coordinates for Paris? The Earth is spinning, and traveling around the sun, which is moving around the center of the Milky Way, which is moving through the universe. Every moment Paris is miles away from where it had been. How does someone create a system of coordinates for that? Twang!
