While Jamaica continues its paralysis of analysis, others are moving on. SAN JOSE, Costa Rica, Jan. 11. CMC – With plans under way to start the construction of the first phase of a mega port in Moin, on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica, the company ATM terminals says it will be hiring 550 people. Communications manager with APM Terminals, Rogelio Douglas, said the hiring process will begin between the end of January and early February. Construction of the first phase of the port will officially begin on January 19 with the installation of a camp for the area and dredging beach. According to Douglas, about 600 people will be hired to fill positions in management during the second phase of the project, which begins in 2018. The new Moin container terminal aims to triple the cargo capacity for the country in the Caribbean. This is one of the most important infrastructure projects to occur in Costa Rica in recent years and will cost US$948 million. The terminal will be able load and unload 2.5 million containers per year.
