While Republicans easily defeated Dems in the 2014 midterm elections, many liberal ideas passed through ballot initiatives as well, such as increasing the minimum wage. In four very red states, Alaska, Arkansas, Nebraska, and South Dakota, minimum wage increases were passed. Likewise in many cities, such as San Francisco and Oakland in CA, and in counties of Wisconsin... Not a bad start, but we need a higher federal minimum wage, $10.10/hour, and higher in cities where the costs of living are significantly higher. 2016 is looking good for liberal ideas... :-D
