While Russians have already lost their food (by some accounts there is no meat suitable for human consumption being produced in Russia), they are still clinging to hope of hosting the World Cup in 2018. In the meantime they are violating rules of international soccer federations because when Russian annexed Crimea, Russian soccer leagues accepted the Crimean soccer clubs into its membership (lower division but still). This type of soccer club annexation is illegal because no country is allowed to put a soccer club in its league without UEFA and FIFA approval, and most importantly, without the approval of the country that is losing those clubs. Naturally Ukraine wont approve transfer of its soccer clubs to Russia. Wonder, where is that line in the sand when the Russian people will rebel against Putins FSB (KGB) regime. They may be okay with going on a forced diet, but losing World Cup? No way.
