While SOME may take from the hosts that his statement was dumb... I take the other perspective he told TOO MUCH truth.... Kobe Bryant did NOT make out well from the rape allegations... he lost his endorsements... However while they want to erase the magical line of marketing isnt about street cred associated from rape... I beg to differ... Heres the unspoken truth... this incident occurred during the technology BOOM! That means that regardless of how unsavory the THOUGHT of a brand associated with the mere mention of the word rape may be.. It trended in modern day marketing that means that NO PRESS is bad press! I would love to see the cyber stats associated with the word Nike during the whole ordeal. .... The tools and the technology EXISTS to actually watch the direct correlation between 1 word and the popularity of GOOGLING/searching that word and the related $ that directly corresponds to THE 1 WORD... That ability has been around since the onset of social media... Soooo its TRUE... Even IF Nike or other corporate sponsors went on record and dropped the future relationship between them and the offender... Their PRIOR association which they strategically did by implanting Kobes name in CODES to the backend of the technology. .. the damage of coupling the two had already been done at the basic level in websites, technology advertisements and ect... Technically they can go on the record to disassociate at the Corporate contract level HOWEVER at the cyber level the partnership was literally encoded into mainstream technology and social media.. That 1 little fact about how modern day marketing works with actual technology is UNKNOWN to the non-technical person... Soooooo it will NEVER matter if a celebrity is caught up in something deragatory AFTER the 1st marketing campaign is done.. NOT EVER.. with social media it is mere seconds before a sensational story like an arrest hits the worlds phones, laptops and every other Internet connected device... Its a WRAP.. and the sponsoring company WINS (continued association in the encoded technology which THEY DO NOT disconnect) the only person left with the bad wrap is the ALLEGED offender .. The CORPORATION continues to push the cyber encoding associated with the persons name and they no longer HAVE to pay said offender any residuals. ... They can use the cyber tags encoded until infinity and the Googler/searcher will NOT EVER know or care about the difference. .. They not only dont KNOW each nosey gossip searching THAT person INCREASES the marketing value simple by by doing the search...
