While all eyes were on Jeff Vinik during his big announcement on Wednesday, the Aidavita Cruise Ship arrived for its inaugural visit to Tampa and the Downtown Partnership was at the welcome ceremony. Why is Aidavita coming to Tampa so cool? This is the first port of call visit in Tampa by a cruise ship. That means 1,200 German passengers and 400 crew members were in Tampa for a full day in the middle of their cruise. This was not a port of origin where people are just coming and going Aidavita was here from early morning until 6pm and passengers spent their time and money enjoying all downtown and other parts of Tampa had to offer! They will be stopping in Tampa five more times this season!
