While answering questions of Siddarth B. Rai: I am also working on History of Kiratas for the last few years. Historians have ignored it as there were not much evidences on the one hand and there were no Kirata descendants to do research and write about it on the other. Any way I am attempting rediscovery and reconstruction of Kirata History for which I have collected a lot of evidences now. So far as ancestors of Kiratas are concerned they were all hunter gatherers before c. 3,000 BCE or so. Perhaps the Kiratas were the first people to attend their Neolithic Revolution in the Hindu-Kush Himalayan around 2,154 BCE or so and started settled life in the Himalayan region not only in Kathmandu Valley but also in Manipur Valley, Nagalang, Mizi Hills, Arakan valley of Myanmar-Tripura, Garo Hills of Meghalaya etc. and evolved as more than 300 geographical ethno-groups and now known as descendants of the Ancient Kiratas such as Limbu, Lepcha, Khambu, Gurung, etc. Nugenro.
