While at the Desert Sage Agility Masters Camp last week, Cody and I had the chance to participate in Stacy Winklers workshop about improving ones dogs performance through drive, reward techniques and distraction training. These are areas in agility that I am really trying hard to improve on, so I can increase Codys motivation. Stacey was great, as she continually modeled for me how to build intensity in Cody by using a really theatrical and exciting voice that, in Stacys words, will make Cody think something really thrilling is going to happen! Listen carefully for Stacys super-animated and fun voice, as she demonstrates how I should say, Ready, steady, pop, my start cue for Cody. Stacy, thank you for the terrific coaching that really seems to make a difference in Codys eagerness when starting.
