While at the gym working out there was this couple on the double - TopicsExpress

While at the gym working out there was this couple on the double sided cable machine that I was waiting patiently to use, just one side. They were on it for at least 45 minutes, using both sides. Keep in mind they were not doing any exercises that allowed for both sides to be used, they could have shared one side to keep the other free for other members. Anyway, I finally saw them go to one side and move their water bottles and jackets all at the one side, and they stayed off the other side for over 15 minutes, so I went and grabbed the other side. When I got ready to start, the guy comes to me and starts telling me that proper gym etiquette is to ask to use the other side. I swear I thought he was joking the way he said it! I started laughing, and blurted out if I were a man would you be telling me this, or are you trying to impress your girlfriend? Then I said Proper gym etiquette is not to hog the equipment! You were off and away from this side for 15+ minutes! Now go back to your workout so I can finish mine! I guess he didnt like that response and immediately said Would you like me to call the owner? OMG! Really?? I didnt know what else to do but laugh harder and said, Sure! I have known Tanya (the owners wife) for 20 years, since before she married the original owner! And he continued to try to bully me and then when I asked him to step out of my way so I could finish my workout he wouldnt. So long story short, I went to the front desk and had them take over and went back to my workout. Do not allow for someone to bully you anywhere, especially in a gym ladies, I dont give a d*mn who they are or who they think they are, stand up for yourself! The rest of my workout was pretty awesome! LOL Has anyone experienced anything like this in their gym? Ive never ever had words with anyone in a gym and Ive been going to gyms for almost 25 years!
