While channel flippin this evening I came to C-SAN. Theyre airing a program called Saturday Night Massacre 40th Anniversary ...about Watergate. What is Watergate some of my young friends might ask...heres the basics...In 1972 The Democratic National Committee Headquarters in the Watergate office building was broken into...days later money they found on five guys arrested for the break in was traced to a slush fund for the Committee to Re-Elect the President. Then John Dean says something about Richard Nixon taping meetings in his office and talking about covering up Watergate and yada,yada,yada...that being said know that Richard Nixon is my favorite president of all time .. I was only 8 or 9 at the time and thought he was the smartest man alive and even now I still believe it....but my point is this, as bad as Watergate was, it didnt effect the American peoples daily lives...they lied, they covered up... Compare that to the huge mess we have in Washington today.. Watergate cant even come close . By the way it was a very good program.
