While channel surfing just now, I ran across THE LAWRENCE WELK SHOW and had a memory flash of my great-grandmother faithfully tuning in every week, and how lame I always thought this stuff was. Old people music and all. Then it occurred to me... the music on that show was Big Band stuff from the 40s, the music of her youth, and those shows were made in the 70s. Thirty years difference. I just saw KISS 40th anniversary concert tour, with Def Leppard, whose big heyday was roughly 30 years ago. The music of MY youth. So... KISS and Def Leppard are our generations Lawrence Welk. I need to go lay down now.
