While everyone is entitled to their opinion, the fact of the matter is that change for the sake of change flat out dumb. Tom Coughlin has only had 3 losing seasons in 11 years as the head coach of he New York Giants, and has won 2 Super Bowls with us as well. Out of the 3 losing season he has had the worst he has done is 6-10, and the last time he went 6-10 he went 11-5 the next season. The Giants went into week 16 with 22 starters on injury reserve which is an insane amount of injuries, and they were to key players like defensive captain Jon Beason, Prince Amukamara, Walter Thurmond (Who was graded the best slot corner in free agency), David Wilson who was our first round pick from two years ago, and of course Victor Cruz., and on top of the injuries our offense struggled early in the season because they were learning a brand new offense. The only Giants coach I can think of who had to endure more season ending injuries to his players was Bill Parcells who had 25 players on injury reserve in his first year as the Giants head coach, and he posted a record of 3-12-1 that year, and barely kept his job. But they wisely retained him and we went on to win the Super Bowl 3 years later. But once again, I cant think of a coach who would have that many injuries on their team let alone to the type of players we lost and still pull off a 6-10 record, and to be honest we were in most of the games we lost until the very end. When you get rid of a two time Super Bowl winning coach, and replace him with another coach, the new coach is going to want to bring in their own staff, meaning that Eli Manning and the Giants offense will have taken two steps forward and one step back, since theyll most likely be learning yet another offense with a new coach in place, meaning you can expect our offense to struggle early in the season again, and the defense will most likely struggle too, considering theyll be learning a new defense as well. So my question to you is... Which coach could have had the injuries weve had and win more games than we did this year, while also installing a new offensive system? And... What two time or more Super Bowl winning coaches are out there that can take over the Giants and get better results than Tom Coughlin? I often hear Bill Cowher mentioned to replace Tom Coughlin, but people forget he was only able to win 1 Super Bowl during his long tenure with the Steelers whose division was a fairly weak back in those days, and at one time his Steelers missed the playoffs 4 out of 6 years (1998 to 2003). But the Steelers wisely didnt jump to conclusions and stuck with him and it paid off with him winning the Super Bowl two years before he retired. Id love to hear everyones opinion.. Especially from guys like Steve Weatherford, Odell Beckham Jr, Justin Tuck, Michael Strahan, Jason Pierre-Paul, etc. #Giants #NewYorkGiants #BigBlue
