While feeding a group of homeless today I looked to my left and saw an older man, head up, shoulders back, chest out, tears literally dripping of his chin, staring at me and at attention position salute. I walked over to him and returned his salute. He began to weep...staring into my eyes and reaching to shake my hand...you are a good man pastor, thank you for come here and helping those of us who cant help themselves. Meet Louie an Army Vet who did an extended tour in Vietnam in the 1st Cav. as did I. I have 3 Purple Hearts and a Silver Star....(weeping)...I love my country and gave my all for her but my country has let me down. Pastor Skip...No one out here understands what we went through and no one understands what I talk about or how I feel but you. I assured him that The Lord would never let him down and to the best of my ability I would not either. Louie has been homeless many years and he is exhausted mentally, physically and spiritually. There are many many many Louies in Word on the Street. As I hugged him and lifted his face and thanked him for his service (and he thanked me for mine then and now) he wiped many tears. Please pray for the homeless Louies all across America...they are the reason you are free. God bless you Louie ...you are a hero in my eyes. Pastor Skip
