While getting marriage counsel or prayer, make sure that you check that what is being pushed is found in The Bible. Anyone can sit around and make you feel good, but its Gods Word that breathes life. If you dont find it in The Bible why are you walking that road? Forgiveness is most necessary when there is something to forgive, if not, the heart may grow bitter. Love is best expressed when your view towards your spouse is unloving. Please dont miss the greatest canvas for you to express your faith, your marriage. We are either walking with Him into it, or just like they did in The Garden, thinking Gods Voice was not the one to follow, eating of the fruit, and walking into death. God will not contradict His Word, if you have been fooled, turn to Him as a child, so He can lead you as a Father.
