While going through 3 floors of gloriously varied creations by the artist and illustrator Barbara Nessim -- my friend of a half-century -- I suddenly realized that she traversed the same landscape as, say, Andy Warhol. But where he was a self-confessed con artist, tinted the photos of celebrities, and said he was a pioneer of computer art, Barbara was -- and is -- an artist whose line drawings, paintings, constructions and collages convey the universally human and the unique -- and who really did pioneer computer art. If youre in New York before January 11, see for yourself -- link below. If youre in Pittsburgh, picket the Warhol museum -- with canvasses for which corporate art marketers paid more than $100 million. bgc.bard.edu/gallery/gallery-at-bgc/barbara-nessim.html
