While going through the trial of a lifetime, Job said he wished his adversary had written a book (Job 31:35). I think I understand Job’s sentiment. Unfortunately the devil would have written Job off a thousand times. But you already know the rest of the story. As you read the first chapter of Job remember there’s a 42 chapter. If the devil wants to keep footnotes on the events in my life, he can knock himself out. But he is not a novelist who gets to call the shot. He’s whispered, “Its over” in my ear so many times that I refuse to acknowledge I’ve heard it. It’s not up to him whether I live or die, or if I’m blessed or not. My Author is also my Finisher (Hebrews 12:2).
