While growing up i had heard so many stories about lions in forest from city slickers who had not even seen a forest. Then as a teenager i got a chance to read Born Free and after some years read Living Free and Forever Free by Joy Adams. Ever since Elsa has been my favorite lioness. I had formed some opinions about lions such as they are fearless; they could attack and kill any big animal including elephant etc., all single handed. But NGC, Animal Planet, Discovery Channel and NGC wild have shown that they do attack bigger and stronger herbivores in a group and sometimes even get killed by them. To certain extent the reality shown disappointed me. But then I asked why? The answer i found was that i had attributed some qualities to lions based on the stories i had heard, without knowing real lives of lions, then got disappointed when they have behaved differently from my illusioned opinion . Certainly there is nothing wrong with the lions but with me. This is what we do with fellow human beings which leads to disappointment, anger, bitterness etc.
