While having conversations with friends and acquaintances from North based in Mumbai the unanimous voice is the city belongs to everyone based here once a Mumbaikar always a mumbaikar the city belongs to everyone who makes it their home be they from anywhere. Let us not any importance to the Thackrey brothers and their politics (the publicity is what they want) if they are goons than we know that it is their job profile to disrupt peace and harmony and ensure that there is a division so that they can rule. Once a friend said after the last bomb blast in Mumbai that ppl in Mumbai deserve it bcs of what they have done to north Indians (I was like really) does bomb and bullet recognize who is from North, West or South and strike (its the same fascist ideology like the Hindu-muslim divide in place there). What is missing in todays politics is if any politicians could learn from Gandhi how to treat your opponent with respect even if you disagree with them, the way you treat ur opponent shows your ideology and principles, the leaders in that era whether it was Ambedkar disagreeing with Gandhi or the other way round there was a certain decorum in words and behavior not generalized statements...it is very unfortunate to see the dance of democracy playing out in such a manner...
