While in Louisiana....we went shopping at a Wal-Mart....as we were walking towards the door....with our cart loaded ....the Wal-Mart greeter asked my bf for his receipt so she could check our items.....as they often do.... Initially I was shocked when he angrily told her no! His response was that was an insinuation that he was a thief.....as I quickly thought about it....I understood that was her job.....but at the same time I understood his reply.....I personally have never felt offended when asked for a receipt....I give it and move on.....I realize there are a lot of shoplifters....but Wal-Mart should figure other ways to deal with this issue versus taking a chance offending customers.....but then again....I guess they can afford to. As for me if this occurs again....am not going to say a thing.....just observe to see what happens....the next time he refuses to show his receipt.....in this case the lady did not insist and responded by saying it was her job and moved on to the next exiting customer.....I mean seriously what can they do if you refuse to show your receipt even if it is in your hand.
