While in Normandy we got to spend some time with Baron Tucker of the 29th Division who landed on Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944. His stories were so incredible and so moving it was hard to not be emotional. He had his helmet shot off on Omaha and witnessed the slaughter of his comrades. After D-Day we was captured by an SS unit that shot some of the other men who were Jewish and buried them. He was in Normandy helping to locate and recover the remains of the still missing men murdered by the SS. It was one of the highlights of our trip to be able to meet this real American hero. Many thanks to Mr. Tucker and his family for this special memory for us.
