While in Norway..We are one of the richest people in the world, yet many people skip work on fridays just to drive for hours up in the mountain, some even have to ski for the last kilometres, with everything they need in a backpack, just to spend the weekend in a cabin with only solar power, no shower, water comes from a well or a nearby river, no internet (!!!!!) and in my case, no phone reception. Some cabins are over 100 years old. Also, many cabins are unlocked, in case someone who has gotten lost in bad weather need to seek shelter. They will usually find a fire place ready to lit, and lots of dry food. And at my cabin: lots of beer and spirits. All we do is ski, read and play board games. It is fantastic.
