While in service I along with my comrades in basic training either - TopicsExpress

While in service I along with my comrades in basic training either learned or was reminded that we were all the same no matter how different we were regardless of race, religion or creed. We were there for a common purpose and to indicate or insinuate any different there would be ramifications. We all learned to respect each other including their personal space. The same goes for everyday living here as a civilian but expecting that kind of mentality from folks outside the military often leaves you either frustrated or pissed off. Upon ordering at a fast food restaurant today I had 2 individuals that obviously felt that intimidation would work for them being they were steps away from the drink dispensary and I was right in front of it. Turning around they were on my heels. I politely asked them if I could help them. Of course the answer was no being that I wasnt showing a cowardly disposition as I assume they were used to from someone that was different. Had we arrived at the same time Id displayed common courtesy and let them go first. Folks whoever you may be and reading this respect one another no matter who or what we are. No one is better than the other. Also keep in mind you never know who youre encountering and what kind of past theyre harboring. Some will humble you and make believers out of you if you invade their personal space.
