While it is all very romantic to declare the 2014 elections as between BJP and AAP (read Modi vs AK) as opposed to Congress (read RG), it is also important to look at what is there to compare about. > Governance or gimmickry? > Track record on performance or Trail blazing campaigns? > Content or Intent? > Ideology or Idealism? > Integrity of the nation or further fragmentation? > Development or Appeasement (of minorities and backward classes through more reservation)? > Experience or Enthusiasm? It is one thing to get a few seats in the very first election and coming to power by default and another thing to stay in power and get re-elected three times as some of the other States and the CMs there have shown by sheer performance track record. It is alright to be ambitious, but should one not first focus on what is in hand (Delhi) to manage and govern well to demonstrate what you can do in Delhi, having got the opportunity, rather than declaring we are the one-stop-shop for all solutions to the ills plaguing the country, when you dont even know what each of your leaders is talking on issues of national priority and keep distancing from them every day or flip-flopping? And what is this fear that if Modi comes to power all the minorities will be packed off from this country, as though suddenly the entire democracy will auto-transform to a Hitler-esque dictatorship and all the opposition parties, the coalition partners, State Governments and other institutions like Judiciary would become servile to this one-man government overnight, other than a convenient propaganda planted by those who are really scared of seeing Modi coming to power? Comparing Kejariwal (and AAP) to Modi (led NDA) is like comparing a Graduate Engineer Trainee who has just started his career a few weeks back to a CEO-designate, senior executive of Top Management, who has worked his ass off, just because both of them are employees of the same organisation!
