While making no comment about the validity of the organisation involved, I know there is doubt about the financial distribution, I am disappointed by some of the mean spirited attitudes to the Ice Bucket Challenge. Ok, I wouldnt do it, but if it means people have a bit of fun, give others a little entertainment, while giving a little money which they may not have done otherwise, then why not? Of course it isnt necessary to do anything but give money, but Im sure many have been prompted to who perhaps dont normally give. The snide comparisons between those who can waste water and those in desperate need for water dont help, and is not really valid. We cant help where we live, any more than those less fortunate. The lack of safe water is a known geographical and economic problem that needs to be addressed by all the wealthy nations. Maybe the energy spent on criticising Ice Bucket participants could be better spent in a more positive activity?
