While many other cities in the world reject the myths and negative results of the water privatization schemes, sadly the citizens in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, the State Capital of Chiapas Mexico, are have privatization stuffed down their throats. Even the right wing leaning citizens of the City of Abbotsford BC overwhelmingly refused a water privatization scheme because it is clear that the only ones who benefit are the corporations. The difference between Abbotsford and Tuxtla Gutiérrez is the people in Abbotsford had a truely democratic process to decide who and how their water would be provided.
