While most days come and go without incident, some days feel like the weight of the world is literally sitting squarely on your shoulders. The intensive pain youve fought with for several years gets the best of you and you find yourself wondering if there will ever truly be an end to it. Youve struggled for so long and kept telling yourself that this next treatment is going to help but after a while, you just cant find it in you to hold your chin up any more. The fight slips away and a sense of hopelessness sinks in. You know you need to hang on but your sense of grip just somehow seems to leave you. Its moments like that when angels in our lives come to us with a hug and remind us that there still is grip in that hand of ours. They pass no judgement, nor do they place any labels. They simply sit with you, listen to you, cry with you and love you. They dont act like they know all there is to know, nor do they give up on you. They dont leave you alone when the going gets tough because they can FEEL when your going is tough and they show up, arms open wide. I am so grateful for my angel, Kim Hoke, who came to me exactly when I needed her the most. She is more than a friend, more than a sister. She is the other half of my soul.
