While near-record warmth is expected this weekend, there are signs that we may kick-off November on the chilly side. We have to look across the globe, at weather patterns occuring in the Arctic regions, to get an idea of how the rest of our fall and winter may shape-up. The snow-pack over Russia has increased substantially during October. Now that a snow-pack has developed, cold air will continue to build across the region. At the same time, well be monitoring weather patterns across North America to see if a piece of the cold air bottled up over Russia and northwestern Canada can break loose and sink southward, into the Lower 48.
