While not a complete turd (thanks to more time spent on a sumptuously realized Asgard, a LITTLE more for Idris Elba to do, and the incredibly fun and knowing turn by Tom Hiddleston as Loki) , THOR: THE DARK WORLD (C-) is more spectacle than coherent story, shifting wildly in tone from sitcom-y moments, romcom blather, world-ending menace, Star Wars style spaceship fights, and scientific gobbledygook, all within a single scene. The coda of Thor will return feels more like a threat than something to anticipate. The next Norse film should feature Sif and Loki facing off for the throne of Asgard.
