While on patrol in the Howard Beach Area on 11/18/14: At 8:59PM in Lindenwood area, we observed an unoccupied, open trunk on a vehicle. After waiting for about 10 minutes we secured the trunk and left our information card. At 10:10PM on the Old side of HB we observed an open house garage. We waited for several minutes and rang the residents door bell. We advised them of the open garage and they secured it and thanked us. At 10:25PM on the Old side of HB we observed an open house garage with a door that led to the apartment. After waiting for several minutes we rang the bell for 5 minutes when the resident answered and we advised her of the open garage. She was very surprised and pleased that we informed her of this unsafe issue, than secured the door and thanked us for the help.
