While our national governments maintain some semblance, however weak, of democratic process via representation, many of our organizations are governed in a dictatorial or feudal manner. In recognizing this discrepancy between our professed values and the way our society operates one is in a position to begin questioning what may be a more inclusive or egalitarian system that would work to the benefit of the organization and all of its participants. Not interested in politics? That’s fine; governance is another beast entirely – one that is far more diverse and engaging….
