While pounding a stake to help hold up a few branches of the giant Mexican sunflowers in my butterfly garden I discovered that a nest of yellow jacket bees have apparently decided to claim that part for their own -- ouch! They even stung my dog Tucker once or twice. Monica Fornero Smith better hold off on taking any photos till I figure out a way to chase em off!
