While preparing for the Glennfiddich last week, I had a thought - TopicsExpress

While preparing for the Glennfiddich last week, I had a thought one morning playing through the tunes that I must be one of the luckiest pipers in the world to get up and be able to play on that stage. It truly is a thrill and every serious piping fan should really have it on their own bucket list to one day see this magnificent event. With thoughts of upcoming events for the charity going on, I decided that morning that should I be lucky enough to win a prize at the Glenfiddich, I would donate half of the money back to the charity in another effort to gain some more scholarship money for deserving pipers. So, to be true to my word, I will do just that and post a picture of the charity receipt when I get back to Canada. However, I also felt last week that I would try to issue a challenge to others for this event and I just wasnt sure how to correctly write/ask. So, I will extend this to the London contest this weekend. There will be a great deal more people playing there but if I can keep in shape and manage to win a prize of some sorts, I will donate half of the winnings back to the Bruce Gandy Bagpiping Development Society and I now ask YOU, to accept the challenge to either match my contribution or any part of it. One friend confided that they just could not afford a lot to match a first place, but, has said that they will match a prize in the form of 1st- $50, 2nd-$40 3rd-$30, 4th-$20 . This was a wonderful idea I felt and anything that anyone chooses to match is a great help to the society. Its always difficult to ask for help, but that is the only way to raise funds so I will practice hard and be playing my heart out next Saturday. Thanks!!!
