While preparing to finalize my taxes deets I decided to go through my emails to make sure I documented all invoices and honorariums. I had to shake my head at a lot of conversations and negotiation i had to do with people from Our community who tried to offer me less than $50 to perform, do a workshop, speak, drum, design, painting etc. All I can say is ... a lot of people in Toronto have no respect for artists or/ for the arts. SMH! But that was last year... so this year that ish will not repeat. I repeat I&I will not be cosigning the exploitation of my livelihood and passion any more. Next rant might be about being paid on a timely manner...
