While shopping at Sams with my big flat cart piled high a woman stopped to talk to me. She asked if I was buying for an event. I laughed and said no I have 8 kids. She laughed and walked away. Came back and asked if I adopted any.? So here goes my chance to share the truth of Scripture and Gods plan to adopt and the crazy turn that took on my family. I shared how working in the ER gave me a passion for adopting through the foster system. I talked about our sibling group and how it was important to me that they stayed together . That no one was forgotten. Her eyes filled and she said -I was one of those. Those forgotten foster kids. Again she walked away. Then came back. She asked me to do everything I can to teach my kids forgiveness for their biological parents. I bet she said 10 times how much someday my kids would understand and appreciate. I pray she is right and that all 8 of our kids understand how much we love them and why we chose this crazy life. I also pray for her that she has found that forgiveness. Funny how passing by a stranger and being open to a conversation could end up being such a moment.
