While some of you know me, Im sure many dont. I have 3 Goldendoodles, 2 of which are brothers and have megaesophagus. I am also a director and foster for a non profit organization called Doodle Rescue Collective. A week and a half ago, my husband and I drove to Youngstown, OH to rescue an 11 week old doodle from a Craigslist post. She was purchased for breeding, but they thought she had MegaE so they were selling her online. I took her to the vet last Monday, we had diagnostic tests done Wednesday. They confirmed that Bristol has MegaE- severely. It is so bad that she will need a feeding tube. I have a consultation appointment set for Sept 5th with an internist regarding her feeding tube placement. In the mean time, we are trying to raise the money for her PEG tube. I understand that many of you, like me are battling this disease, and I also know how costly it can get, but if you could help us achieve our goal, it would be beyond appreciated. She is such a sweet girl who wants nothing more than to love and be loved, and I am determined to give her that opportunity. While my hands are full with two of my own MegaE dogs, Bristol needs us too and I just couldnt say no. She will be attending a rescue event with me on Saturday, where we will be educating folks on animal rescue and megaesophagus. She is certain to draw a crowd!
