While studying about new trends and ideas in Cinema, a phrase inspired me to make a move to find what is it all about.....The BMW film series. Funny name, funny idea to associate the luxury car brand BMW with world cinema. Is it funny? Just read about........enjoy on the high band on this weekend. The BMW film series, The Hire was a series of eight short films (each about eight minutes long, on average) produced for the Internet in 2001 and 2002. A form of branded content, all eight films featured popular directors from across the globe, starred Clive Owen as the Driver, and highlighted the performance aspects of various BMW automobiles. The smaller intricacies of each short films plot differ but one constant remains: Clive Owen plays The Driver, a man who goes from place to place (in presumably rented BMW automobiles), getting hired by various people to be a sort of transport for their vital needs. 1.
