While the US is obsessed with exerting a strategic military presence around the globe, Obama spoke this year to the UN: The United states of America will not be distracted or deterred from what must be done. We are heir to a proud legacy of freedom and we are prepared to do what is necessary to secure that legacy for generations. He is of course pointing fingers at his adversaries namely, Russia & China in particular; who the US perceives as being aggressive and expansionist. The reality is of course quite different, and while both Russia and China do wish to command significant influence over their immediate geo political sphere, the US deliberately antagonises situations to destabilise those regions, with global repercussions. The manifestation of the new cold war for the 21st century being a particular legacy of freedom seems apparent. As policies to secure that legacy, cause death, mayhem, particularly in the M. E., the reemergence of recession in Europe arises as a consequence of sanctions against Russia. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, in the backyard of the USs own immediate sphere the Whitehouse turns a blind eye towards its southern neighbour. Where are the rhetorical proud legacies... to the 43 students burnt to death at the behest of a Mexican regime officials because they dared to demonstrate their own perceived right to freedom and political expression. It seems this legacy of freedom is reserved for exerting US military power in far off fields, the cold winds of which will become instead the legacy for generations.
