While the boys from St. Georges Community Centre Camp all rushed into the video game rec room, the girls were chillin on the floor next to one of the tables. I invited them to help me set up my Numark MixTrack Pro Digital DJ Controller, to the SMASH! System, showed them how to plug in, gave them a quick tutorial on how to use the controller to select and play songs, gave them a playlist to pick from and let them all take turns spinnin tune! We also have a keyboard set up at SMASH Table Tennis Rec Center just in case we get someone that wants to get on and play, but also for the yutes to put on some headphones and just plunk away and create their own tunes! I believe if you just give them access to the tools and let them play, they end up naturally discovering a gift and interest that they probably never knew they had because they were never exposed to it. Many folk dont realize that females make some of the BEST djs because of how they hear music! DONT SLEEP ON THE LIONESSES!! BLESS UP!! They were bussin that St St. Matthew track! READYBACK!!!
