While the excitement of the auction was going on last Saturday, there were still other rescues that needed our care. Lucky Star Paddy, a senior boy who is in permanent foster care due to seizures and his advanced heart condition, was rushed to the hospital with an obstruction in his small intestines. His medical condition made him very high risk for surgery and we weren’t sure it was wise. The obstruction was removed but Paddy was in intensive care with his condition guarded for several days. He did not bounce back as quickly as we would have liked. His devoted foster mom visited him regularly, taking him food and hoping he would eat for her when he wouldn’t eat for anyone else. A couple of days passed with no improvement and we were growing concerned. Paddy’s condition improved yesterday and we are so relieved and happy to say that he came home tonight with his foster mom. We are so grateful that Paddy has made it through this. The cost of 4-5 days in ICU is very expensive but we made the commitment for our Paddy. You donations would be greatly appreciated to help us with Paddy’s medical expenses. We wish you and your families a blessed Thanksgiving. We are grateful for all of our rescues and for your support. Please give your Lucky Star dogs an extra hug on Thanksgiving. I’m sure they will return the love and I know that they are grateful to be in a loving home! Thank you all. Mary Coyne
