While the tragedy in France has sparked a farcical conversation - TopicsExpress

While the tragedy in France has sparked a farcical conversation about freedom of expression, the media has largely omitted that a Washington Post reporter Wesley Lowery was detained by police on Wednesday while reporting on the unrest in Ferguson and, that many of the world leaders who joined the march in France on Sunday have some of the worst track records for freedom of speech rights in their respective countries. This hypocrisy exemplifies the meaninglessness of this debate and to my mind, evidences the systematic dehumanization of an entire race of people. Nothing illustrates this more simply than Rupert Murdochs (owner of over half of the WORLD media) blatant racism on twitter, blaming 1.8 billion people for the extremist actions of a few. I urge you to think about what the media has failed to include this week; oil price crash? Ebola? the decision not to publish the 28 page 9/11 report during a vote at an american Truth conference? the slaughter of 2000 Nigerians by BokoHaram? These are things you probably wont have noticed Trending. The media always have an ulterior motive and nothing is value-free. anonhq/10-things-media-wont-talking-paris-terror-attack/ mic/articles/108166/one-student-s-epic-tweets-call-out-the-biggest-hypocrites-marching-for-free-speech-in-paris washingtonpost/news/post-nation/wp/2014/08/13/washington-post-reporter-arrested-in-ferguson/ mic/articles/108144/one-tweet-from-j-k-rowling-perfectly-shuts-down-rupert-murdoch-s-anti-muslim-rhetoric
