While the whole social media is behind Yuvraj ridiculing his slow - TopicsExpress

While the whole social media is behind Yuvraj ridiculing his slow batting yesterday, I strongly feel it was also a tactical blunder from captain cool to have promoted Yuvi ahead of himself and in form Raina. Yuvi was fishing big time in the semi final also and it was his dismissal which turned the game in Indias favour. In the crucial phase of the match where strike rotation and accelaration was most needed, it was indeed a poor decision from Dhoni to have sent Yuvraj at 4. Yuvi was merely a shadow of his past glory throughout the tournament except during his knock vs Ausies. We badly missed Dhoni, Raina or even Sir Jadeja during one of those last 4 overs bowled by Senanayake - there was potential to touch 160 which ultimately would have given India an edge. While this could mark an end to Yuvrajs international career, one would also wonder on certain decisions and approaches taken by Dhoni - persisting with Mohit, exclusion of Shami, not utisiling Jadejas quota in semis (bowler had conceded 8 runs in 2 overs with SA having a reputation of fearing good spin bowling), defensive approach throughout with just one agenda of somehow completing 20 overs..are a few of them. Most of his decisions worked by chance and not by design. Poor Virat Kohli....he surely deserved to be on the winning side. We are yet to witness his peak phase I guess. Atleast some great moments to expect in future Indian cricket !!
