While there is some satisfaction to see the Republicans in such disarray, it isnt healthy for any of us. Our system works best when we have two healthy parties robustly and seriously discussing the issues, but in the end taking the path hammered out together. We need fiscal conservatives and traditionalists, just as we need daring and innovative progressives. We need to regain the art of compromise so we can once again function effectively as a country.
