While this Christmas has been a great one, my heart is broken and I feel lost. Our wonderful dog, Cooper (he legally belonged to my daughter but he spent most of the time with me so I had a bond with him) has gone to doggy heaven. Some of you know that he suffered from a neurological condition and for the last 10 months had been undergoing chemo treatments and taking meds. Despite having periods of semi-paralysis he was a happy dog, always trying (and often catching) lizards. The squirrels he chased always alluded him. I know that in doggy heaven he has made friends with all creatures. I will miss him terribly. Being stuck in the house so much has made me dependent on him and my dog Carlos for companionship. The boys were always jumping into bed with me and were often with me on my wheelchair. Carlos is wandering around the house looking for him. Oh, I know that an animals death is not like losing a person, but they are still loved. I feel for my daughter Vickie Torres as this is her first real loss in life and he was her baby. We know that God will give us comfort at this time.
