While this article is a bit fluffy it is also deeply accurate. What both Labor and the Liberals still havent worked out is that a huge number of people care about the planet. The idiocy of Labor - through the likes of Stephen Conrovia, Julia Gillard, my friend David White, my former good friend Robert Ray and many others - in ignoring the environment when it actually delivered them the first Hawke Government - is breath-takingly stupid. What dont they understand? How stupid are Labor functionaries? Nearly all Labor MPs are now elected on Greens preferences. Hello-ooh? Stop bagging them. And in right-wing functionary heaven of Michael Dumbys seat of Melbourne Ports it was proven several elections back. There are large numbers of Liberals who care about the planet. Conservative = Conservation - Margaret Thatcher said in 1987 immediately losing 15% of the Tory vote to the Greens. Labor had the opportunity to adopt Dark Green policies in 1996 and deliberately ignored it. I dont care about the environment. I care about jobs.
