While we Mark Miller, Peter Panzy, Hugh English and others are lamenting on the pervasive blandification of New York, here is another sobering report. Not a big fan of Little Italy, as I have come to know it (aside from some of the food), but it is one more example of what is happening here. Culture is disappearing. More hotels, expensive apartments, ugly retail, etc. I think I should go read a book or invite some friends over for dinner or plant some flowers in my neighborhood treepits, or go meditate in a quiet place...I am getting upset. Feeling mighty powerless right now.
