While we cant visit the Great Barrier Reef, we did spend the day at AQWA checking out the coral and studying the fish life. When we go on field trips I always organise some kind of activity to go with it so that the educational outcomes are maximised. We always make a point to find a quiet spot to read. Today we found the comfy chairs at the Coral Reef display just the spot to read I Wonder Why the Sea is Salty (ISBN 978-0-7534-3120-7) I also make sure we take a pause after lunch to do some maths and or English related work sheets. Today a teacher with a small school group picked us as being on a school excursion. She was quite envious that we could take our time to really see and experience everything as she quickly ushered the kids through the displays. It is so great when the whole world is your classroom and you have time to appreciate it. :) :D ;)
