While we sit in the comfort of our homes and make snap judgements about those crossing our borders...there are children, who are in essence refugees fleeing violence in their homeland...being deported back to horrific situations and now being murdered. They came to us for help and we turned them away. At some point, compassion has to be brought to bare here in our own back yard not simply a prescription we give to the rest of the world as they grapple with massive refugee intakes. Why are we not prepared to handle this? If our political persuasions cause us to use these situations as talking points to gain popularity in the polls, all the while marrying our party affiliations to the Christian faith and deifying a lack of compassion, then we are far more deceived and devilish than the ones on the end of our accusations. #compassionisneverconvient #borderchildren thinkprogress.org/immigration/2014/08/19/3472301/five-children-killed-after-deportation-honduras/
