While we were at school there were perhaps mainly two - TopicsExpress

While we were at school there were perhaps mainly two distinctions, senior students verses junior students and the girls side verses the boys side of our school. Perusing the posts here one can see that those distinctions have blurred and disappeared, and the years of our shared youth seem to coexist. Thus it is that the topics pertaining to our David Samuel, Mango man, etc., seem to strike a common note with all of us. There is no distinct BC vs AD for us. Where is the defining line? If we were to consider Mr.David Samuel as the one, there are some of us who did not formally have him as our teacher, yet was so much influenced by him. Is it then, the stick cricket that one used to play in place of willow bats? Well, I am sure they do that to this day. We have to come to the conclusion that the decades seem to coexist when it comes to Christ Church alumni. Irrespective of what seemed to separate us while we were at school, the fact is that the school binds us, and transcends anything that seemingly separated us while we were at school. Even those whom I used to think of as my enemy while at school, is my bosom friend who doesnt know that I am now. In our shared experience is the fruition of the verse in our school hymn Heavens morning breaks and earths vain shadows flee. I am grateful and proud to be a part of our great tradition otherwise known in my days as the The Christ Church High School.
