While we were walking the Quantocks yesterday from Lydeard Hill Car Park, we were treated to the unedifying spectacle of one of the local staghound hunts charging about the hills in thick fog, in pursuit of an unfortunate animal. They were using quadbikes and four wheel drive vehicles to corner the animal and then followed by people on horses, one of whom was armed, so they were obviously anticipating a kill. I thought this sort of thing was banned and also the use of these vehicles on the Quantock public areas, can anyone enlighten me?
